What DropAsecret does that other anonymous message apps don't

NGL, Sendit and Tellonym all give you a way to get anonymous messages. DropAsecret is built for what happens next: private conversations, masked voice notes, and nobody able to pay to find out who you are.

Most anonymous message apps work the same way. You share a link, people send you messages, and you answer by posting them where everyone can see.

DropAsecret started from a different question: what happens after the first message? Here's what it does that the best-known apps don't, as we write this in October 2026.

A conversation, not a story post

On NGL, you answer a message by posting it to your Instagram story. Sendit runs through Snapchat, built around questions you post to your story. On Tellonym, you can answer publicly on your profile.

On DropAsecret, a message is the start of a private chat. You reply, they reply, and it goes back and forth for as long as you both like, while the sender stays anonymous. Your answer goes to them, not to your followers. Messages and replies are free on every plan, with no cap.

Say it out loud, in a masked voice

Any message can be a voice note, from either side. Before sending, you choose how you sound: High, Deep and Robot are free for everyone, and Plus adds more. The mask is applied on your own phone before anything is sent, so your real voice never leaves it. Here's how voice masks work.

Nobody can pay to find out who you are

NGL Pro and Sendit's Diamond membership are paid subscriptions that include hints about who sent each message. DropAsecret doesn't sell hints or names, on any plan. A name only shows if both people agree to a reveal.

Works from a link, on any phone

NGL is built around your Instagram username, and Sendit works through Snapchat. A DropAsecret link is just a web address. Put it on your WhatsApp Status, in your bio, on X or in a group chat, and anyone can open it in their phone's browser.

If you want DropAsecret on your home screen like any other app, you can install it from the site, with notifications under its own name. Those notifications only ever say that something arrived, never what it says.

More than one question

Your link doesn't have to ask the same thing forever:

  • Modes like Confessions, Secret crush, Honest opinion, Roast me and Advice box, each with its own link to share
  • Drops, one question on your link until a countdown ends
  • Polls that anyone can vote in, once, anonymously
  • Campaign links on Creator Pro, a separate link with its own prompt for an AMA or a launch

There's more on Drops and polls and campaign links.

You decide what gets filtered

DropAsecret doesn't decide for you what people may say. You decide what reaches you. Add blocked words, and messages that use them go to a separate Filtered folder. Senders are warned before they send one, and after three tries they can't message you for 6 hours.

Blocking a sender, reporting a conversation and pausing your link are free on every plan.

Share to your Status without giving anything away

Turn a message into a story-sized card for WhatsApp Status, Instagram or Snapchat, with your reply under it if you like. You can cover any letter in the message before you post, so a name or a detail that could point to someone stays hidden. Voice notes become a short video, since Status takes videos but not audio files. Here's how share cards work.

See what's working

Stats show how many people opened your link, how many sent something, which modes they picked and what time of day messages arrive, so you know when to share your link again.

Try it

Make your free link at dropasecret.com, share it to your Status, and reply to the first message that comes in, in text or out loud.
