Mutual Reveal: how DropAsecret shows a name only when you both agree
On DropAsecret, a sender's name only shows if both people say yes. Here's how a reveal works, what the other person sees, and how to take it back.

Most anonymous message apps stop at the message. DropAsecret keeps going: you can talk back and forth, and if you both want to, the sender can reveal who they are.
The important part is both. A name only shows when both people say yes, and nobody can pay to find out who someone is. Here's how it works.
Whose name is revealed
The person who owns the link is already known: their name is on the page. So a reveal is about the sender. When it happens, the owner learns who has been writing to them.
Asking
Either of you can start it, from inside the conversation:
- The link owner taps "Ask who this is". The sender gets a private request, and the owner only sees a name if the sender agrees.
- The sender taps "Reveal who you are" and offers to show the owner who they are. The owner only sees it if they agree too.
Each person decides in private. For the sender, the prompt is clear: only if you want to, and saying no just ends the request.
The sender chooses what's shown
Revealing needs a free account, so the name shown is one the sender chose and agreed to. Before offering, they type the name to reveal, up to 40 characters, and decide whether to include their profile photo, if they have one.
DropAsecret shows them exactly what the other person will see: that name, their username and their photo. Never their email address, phone number or anything else.
The moment
When both have said yes, the name shows. If the chat is open, there's a 3, 2, 1 countdown and the mask comes off, with "You both chose to reveal". The conversation keeps a marker where it happened, and from then on, the chat shows who you're talking to.
When the answer is no
A no is final for that request, and it can't be worn down:
- A request nobody answers ends after 10 minutes, as a no.
- If someone keeps asking and keeps hearing no, they have to wait before they can ask again.
Going back to anonymous
A reveal can be undone. Either person can ask to go back to anonymous, and if the other agrees, names are hidden again. Either of you can ask to reveal again later.
How many reveals you get
On the free plan, a link owner gets 3 reveals a week, and a reveal only counts when it actually completes. Plus and Creator Pro have unlimited reveals.
Paying for more reveals doesn't skip anyone's say. Every reveal still needs both people's yes.
Sharing the moment
After a reveal, you can make a card to share. It shows how long you talked and how many messages you sent before finding out, with no names and no messages on it.
