Charms: the badges your DropAsecret chats earn
Fast friends, Night owls, a 3-day streak. Some DropAsecret conversations earn small badges just by being used. Here's what each charm means and how a chat gets one.

Some anonymous messages go nowhere. Others turn into a quick answer, a late-night back and forth, or a chat you come back to every day. Charms mark those moments. They're small badges at the top of a conversation, and a chat earns them just by being used.
There's nothing to switch on or buy. Charms work on every plan, and both people in a conversation see the same ones.
The six charms

| Unmasked | You both chose to reveal |
Night owls doesn't need the two of you to be up on the same night. Each of you only has to have written late at some point. Chatterboxes counts messages from when charms were added, so a very old chat may have further to go.
How a streak works
A day only counts when both of you write on it. One person sending ten messages doesn't move the number. Days run on GMT, which is Ghana's time.
The badge appears on day three and keeps counting from there. It stays on show through the day after you last both wrote, so you have until midnight that day to keep it going. Miss that, and the badge goes. The next day you both write starts again from one.
Which charms can go away
Most charms stay once a chat has earned them. There are two exceptions:
- The streak goes when it's broken.
- Unmasked goes if you both agree to go back to being anonymous after a reveal.
What charms say about you
Charms are about the conversation. None of them shows a name or says who anyone is.
They do show how you've been chatting, though. Night owls tells the other person that you've been up after midnight, and that's as much as it says.
Earning your first one
Fast friends is the easiest to get, and you only have one chance per conversation. If you have a link, turn on notifications in Settings, so you know when a message comes in, and reply within 5 minutes.
